Both start once your IBT is done, because you need the IBT certificate before you can ride on the road. The pre-test is what most Dublin riders ask for: a full mock test on the roads around the centre you've booked, with honest feedback on what the examiner will look for (see how the pre-test works). If you want more time first, lessons of about an hour and a half work on whatever still needs practice, planned around the same centre. You can ride your own bike or one of ours.

Riding in Dublin asks a lot of you: filtering through traffic, reading bus lanes, dealing with junctions that come fast one after another. We build all of that gradually rather than throwing you in at the deep end. Many of our Dublin learners start on the quieter roads out our way and bring those skills back into the city, where they make all the difference.
IBT is €650 for the two days at Fairyhouse, with the bike and all the gear included, and our IBT questions cover the rest.

The RSA runs the motorcycle test at seven centres in its Dublin list, and we do lessons and pre-tests at all of them.

How to get to our training ground from Dublin City
Where we train: Fairyhouse Racecourse, Ballybin, Ratoath, Co. Meath, A85 XK30. That's about 25 km from Dublin city centre by road, via the Navan Road (R147) and the N3. Buses stop right outside the racecourse.

Do I have to travel to Fairyhouse?
Only for your IBT, which we run on our training ground at Fairyhouse Racecourse, about 25 km from the city centre. After that, your lessons and pre-test can happen around the Dublin test centre you've booked.
How long is the wait for a motorcycle test in Dublin?
The RSA says the wait for a motorbike test is generally 10 to 12 weeks (checked October 2026), and it can be longer at busy centres. Its online estimator only covers car tests, but its test waiting times page has the latest. Get in touch before you choose a date, so we can fit your pre-test around it.

No. You can ride your own bike or one of ours.
